YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra (or yogic sleep) is a guided meditation practice that brings you into a state between waking and sleeping - a deeply relaxed, yet aware, state of consciousness. It is the only thing that relaxes me into that delicious sleep we all crave to find us waking up with that fresh energy the next morning - I am totally sold on it!

Here’s a quick breakdown:

What is it?

âœ¨a guided relaxation typically done lying down in savasana

âœ¨let yourself be led through stages of body awareness, breath observation and visualisation

âœ¨it relaxes the body and quiets the mind, taking you into a deep meditative state

What does it do?

✨activates the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), easing stress and anxiety

✨allows the body to rest deeply while the mind stays gently aware

✨can feel more restorative than sleep (and I can confirm this!)

Why do it?

         âœ¨reduce tension and ease stress

âœ¨support insomnia and improve your sleep quality

âœ¨feel more rested, more focussed, emotionally resilient

âœ¨suitable for everyone - no movement is required, just a willingness to relax 🫶

It’s often used in therapeutic and spiritual settings alike and you don’t need any yoga experience to practice it - just get comfy, close your eyes and follow my voice.

Quieten the over-thinking mind, reconnect to the body and the breath to re-connect to yourself.
